Investigated distribution:

  1. minio:
  • fast and light weight
  • can be run bare-metal, docker and in k8s.

But seems excessive

  1. Custom: pull from upstream, save at a pull-able cache, shallow clone from nodes
  • Easy to implement and debug, when necessary
  • Less load on customer infrastructure
